Hey, June!

Remember a few weeks ago when Starbucks had their fun with the Unicorn Frappaccino, and the world lost its collective S?!

Unicorn everything came out of the woodwork! Unicorn bread, unicorn popcorn, unicorn hot chocolate. And then came all the unicorn poop stuff. What’s happening, society?

Naturally, we wanted to jump on the unicorn train before it crashes. We searched high and low for the perfect Unicorn Sangria and came up empty.

So…we made our own! Introducing June’s Sangria of the month…

Magical Unicorn Sangria!!!

We painstakingly drank pitcher-after-pitcher of Sangria, tweaking ingredients and ratios day-after-day to bring you the perfect unicorn Sangria.

You’re welcome.

We had to bend a few sangria rules on the way to perfection, like we’re pretty sure ice cream isn’t typically sangria-approved, but we’re happy with the results 🙂

Now, are you brave enough to try our crazy concoction?

You’ll need:

  • 1/2 C. Fresh Raspberries
  • 1/2 C. Fresh Blueberries
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar
  • About 1/3 C. Blue Curacao – it’s a little strong, so maybe start with a touch less if you’re sensitive to it
  • A 750 ml. bottle of sweet, bubbly wine
  • 1 -2 C. clear soda – optional for those who want to take it down a notch
  • A small scoop of Raspberry Swirl Ice Cream for each glass
  • Gold sugar sprinkles – not optional. These make it magical.

Throw your raspberries, blueberries, and sugar in a large pitcher and muddle with a wooden spoon.

Add the Blue Curacao and muddle again.

Add your wine and optional soda, and give the whole thing a stir. The Blue Curacao makes the bubbles a crazy bright blue!

Pour your Sangria into the glasses, leaving room for a small scoop of ice cream.

Add the small scoop of Raspberry Swirl Ice Cream to each glass.

Sprinkle a little gold sugar over each glass to make them magical.

Enjoy!

Store left-over Sangria sans ice cream in the fridge for up to 48 hours. J/k, you’re not going to have any left-overs 😉
