Thanks so much, Lindsey! You make a great point. No matter how hard you try and how much you research, everything in life seems to be more expensive than planned. Here's a little trick I learned a while back to help manage those higher-than-expected expenses: every time I have to budget for something (whether it's a vacation, real estate, or even just my monthly budget), I add a 10% "unknowable" expense to my planning. That way, when my vacation goes over-budget for reasons I couldn't have seen coming, I'm covered! Hope that helps when you're planning your next big purchase :)

Sounds great. I'm new to the real estate field and for me I think, things are always more expensive than you realize. In 2017 I decided to buy a house for living in London and then rent it out when I leave this place. When I bough that house most of the things needed some kind of fixing and they are really expensive for me but I managed. Recently in Aug, I left that house and now living in Dubai. I get the first rental income even the fees associated with managing the property are higher than expected.

Your post is really informative, especially the beginners who are just started real estate business recently. Thanks for sharing such info.
